We have told you about the super fishing we have enjoyed on Montana's Bighorn River, well, now it's time for you to share this experience with us. This is a fishing session with specific instruction on how to successfully fish this incomparable river. Why is this river so unique? Start with a population of about 8,000 mature brown trout per mile with a lots of rainbows in addition. Combine this with a "spring creek" environment, profuse hatches, and stable controlled water conditions. Then add an average fish size in excess of sixteen inches, with a typical day providing many opportunities for a fish of twenty inches or better, and you may start understanding why we call it unique. How unique? I think the Bighorn may be the finest, most stable, predictable fishery, with the best average fish size of any Western river! Every defined presentation brings the potential of a trophy trout. Bighorn browns are acrobats, although most don't jump until you hook them! Lots of flat water, profuse insect hatches and big surface feeding trout make this a flyfisher's river. We have selected an outstanding guiding staff headed by our outfitters, Steve Hilbers and Hale Harris, of the Bighorn Trout Shop. Fridays and Saturdays are the two "high traffic" days on the river, so we travel in on Saturday and fish Sunday through Thursday and return on Friday. Because our group is limited to 12 people, I need to hear from you at your earliest opportunity. Please give me a call or email me with any questions. I'll be in touch with you regarding the transportation arrangements upon receiving your deposit. It's hard to believe we could have more fun than last year, but I think we should try! |
