It is hard
to believe that 20 years has past since Mike’s inaugural year with
the Puyan’s Schools. Mikes’ western years began as a long-time
guide for Mike Lawson at Henry’s Fork Anglers. He also taught the
Fenwick schools and many schools across the country for Club Pacific.
Mike has developed his unique teaching style through many years of instructing
with the masters…Mel Krieger, Lefty Kreh, Jim and Carol Green, the
Rajeffs, and, of course, the master himself…André Puyans.
Over the last 20 years Mike has developed a successful fly fishing rep
agency in the Northern Rockies and is proud to have represented the Sage
Rod Company 16 years and counting. He has also been involved in numerous
fly casting/fishing competitions such as The Jackson Hole One Fly, ESPN
Fly Fishing Challenge and the Great Outdoor Games in Lake Placid; he received
numerous awards and accolades for his involvement in these competitions.
Mike has also been involved in national television, hosting his own show
on ESPN “Inside America’s National Parks”, where Mike
has the “painful” task of fly fishing in 12 very different
locations, from Alaska to the Virgin Islands. Internationally Mike has
traveled all over the world, from Christmas Islands to Chile, but is more
excited to come back home to Elk Creek Ranch where his journeys began. |
